Video Format HD use 1920x1080
Frame Rate
24 30 or 25: 24 is film quality
50 and 60 are for slow motion
Progressive is like film; interlace is for broadcast.
Focus
1. use bigger monitor
2. use focus assist
3. peaking
* always zoom-in, then focus, then zoom-out
* use mannual focus in most cases
Neutral Density (ND) filter
Shutter speed
• the longer the shutter speed, the more motion blurer, the more light coming in the picture
• normal shutter speed: double the frame rate, such as 24fps with 1/48 shutter speed. we can also go one or two stops lower such as 1/32
White balance - don't forget
Gain generates noise.
Camera move: zoom, pan, tilt (sometimes use auto focus)
Five sound rules
1. get the microphone close to the subject
2. always use headset
3. monitor levels from the camera
4. scout locations for sound
5. record room tone
Fine sound zone: -20 db to -12db
